September Tarotscopes

tarotscope

Tarot + horoscope = tarotscope! Here's how it works. I’m drawing one card for each sign from the Tarot’s Major Arcana and the second from its elemental suit. E.g. since Virgo is an earth sign, one card is drawn from the Major Arcana and one from the Tarot’s earth suit, pentacles, for Virgo. (Standard disclaimer: Tarotscopes are for entertainment purposes only). And my gif theme for this post are these oddball ads from Indonesia, because... It's just been that kind of month.

September: Virgo, August 23 – September 22: The Magician and the Queen of Pentacles. This is your month to make things happen, Virgo. And while the Magician tells you that you have all the tools at hand, the Queen of Pentacles reminds you that a little help from your friends won't go amiss either. Don't try to do everything on your own. Reach out with an attitude of generosity and friendship.

October: Libra, September 23 – October 22: Judgement and the Ace of Swords. You will experience a powerful and transformative call this month, Libra. Whether you accept the challenge is up to you, but know that the Ace promises all the power of its suit, Swords, is in the mix. Swords represent our thoughts and can be tricky things. Our thoughts can raise us to the highest heights, and they can also deceive us, bringing us to despair. A wild journey is on its way, but Judgement promises reward at the end.

November: Scorpio, October 23 – November 21: Temperance and the Nine of Cups. The Nine of Cups promises all good things in the realm of emotions and the heart. It also symbolizes a sense of completion -- the end of a stage in a relationship. This may temper your joy, but don't let it bring you down. These changes are good and normal, and although what comes next might feel scary, try to bring a sense of excitement to it. Something good is coming.

December: Sagittarius, November 22 – December 21: The World and the Queen of Wands. The World, representing the world soul, gives birth to the material world. Combine this with the loving creative energy of the Queen of Wands, and you're in a position to do some major manifestation, and/or help others do the same. Key word: loving. Breathe love into your heart and see what happens!

January: Capricorn, December 22 – January 19: The Chariot and the Two of Pentacles. You may feel pulled in two different directions this month, Capricorn. But you don't have to choose one way or another. There is a way to make these two energies, which seem to be in opposition, pull together. The key is to figure out what you truly want.

February: Aquarius, January 20 – February 18: The Fool and the Five of Swords. Victory is yours - or it can be - but you'll need to take care that you don't leave wreckage in your wake. Pay attention to the impact your actions have on those around you.

March: Pisces, February 19 – March 20: The Tower and the Knight of Cups. The Knight charges forward, and the Tower knocks him off his perch. Ouch. But here's the thing about the Tower: its destructive energy only comes into play when we've been holding on to something too long -- e.g. a relationship, or an idea that no longer serves us, or something that simply isn't right. What are you holding on to, and what do you need to let go of? In this sense, the Tower actually frees us from the prisons we've created.

April: Aries, March 21 – April 19: The Sun and the Ten of Wands. "What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly." —Lao Tzu. Ah, the burdens of success. The ten of Wands shows a man lugging ten wands on his back. He's succeeded - he's got it all -- but now he has to carry it all forward. And sometimes, that can feel like the pits. But the Sun reminds us that this is a good thing - this is what we wanted, what we've worked for. So don't focus on the negative. Be the Sun. It keeps going, keeps shining, and lights the way for others.

May: Taurus, April 20 – May 20: The Emperor and the Nine of Pentacles. Nines symbolize completion and the nine of Pentacles promises all sorts of good things on the material plane. However, you'll need to find your structure to pull it off. This is not the time to run off half-cocked. Gather your forces, plan and get organized.

June: Gemini, May 21 – June 20: The Hanged Man and the King of Swords. This is your month for plotting and planning. The Hanged Man suggests the obstacles in your way are a call from the universe to stop and think. So don't get frustrated. Take the time offered. When you do choose to act, you can then move forward like the King of Swords -- decisively.

July: Cancer, June 21 – July 22: The Moon and the Four of Cups. Your dreams can be made manifest, but two things will have to happen. First, you're going to need to evolve your perception -- some adaptation may be required. Second, you'll have to reach out to take the opportunity offered.

August: Leo, July 23 – August 22: Strength and the Two of Wands. You stand at a crossroads, Leo, and this crossroads is inside you. The Strength card depicts a woman beside a roaring lion. She stays calm and loving, and the lion doesn't consume her. We all have roaring lions inside us. Sometimes they're out-of-control beasts, and sometimes they're what gets us through it. Don't fight the beast. Accept it as a part of you, and use it appropriately.
