The Witches of Doyle

Have you ever had one of those weeks filled with omens and odd synchronicities? Like when in a spot of bibliomancy, you randomly open your favorite art photography book to a picture the photographer says represents the human spirit and its eternal energy and how it goes on after we die, and realize the picture has absolutely no possible meaning for your day. And then at the end of the day, you learn a distant but well-liked relative has just passed on. Are synchronicities always happening, and I'm only just noticing them now?

The L.A. Times has a really interesting video on witches in China, and how they cooperate with each other in the face of prejudice. It's only about four minutes and well worth the watch.

And here's one of those synchronicities I mentioned. The day after my relative passed, this article on working with the ancestors popped into my in box. I poured an offering of vodka into the ground on his behalf that day.
