Intuition and Tarot Reading

Three black and white Tarot cards and crystals

--By Hyperion Night of Beanblossom's Tea and Tarot

Hey there! I’ve got a new book on Tarot coming out May 31st, and while I’ve got zero problem with flogging it shamelessly, a few friends have asked if they needed to be psychic to read the cards.

Short answer: no. You don't need to be some sort of mystical, all-seeing oracle to read the Tarot, and that’s a good thing, because I’m certainly not. It's all about connecting with the symbols on the cards, and using your intuition to interpret what they mean. The more you practice, the better you'll get.

Your intuition is your gut instinct, that little voice inside your head that tells you what's what. It's not about brain power. It's about following your instincts.

Granted, sometimes our intuition can lead us into some full-tilt weirdness. We might feel like something's off about a situation, even if we can't quite put our finger on it. That's when we have to trust ourselves and follow that feeling, even if it doesn't make sense on the surface.

So how does it work? How do 78 pieces of colorful cardboard do this?

Well, they don't. They're facilitators.

When you buy a deck of Tarot cards, they're just a bunch of pretty pictures. But when you start using them, when you start channeling your energy into them, that's when the magic happens. It's like you're creating a connection between yourself and the cards, and that's where the insights come from.

So don't be intimidated. Whether you're a natural-born intuitive or someone who's still learning the ropes, you can tap into the power of the Tarot. Trust your gut, follow your instincts, and let the cards guide you. You'll be reading like a pro in no time! (Especially if you pre-order my book, The Mysteries of Tarot).
