Welcome to another week of paranormal news from the San Benedetto Paranormal Museum. Things are heating up here in Central California, but don't worry, the museum has A/C and plenty of ghostly chills to keep you cool. Stop on by!
And now, here are my top five paranormal news picks!
1) King Arthur might not be as gone as we thought. Legends say he and his knights are tucked away in all sorts of spots across Britain, snoring in caves under hills like Glastonbury Tor or Cadbury Castle, waiting for the right moment to wake up and sort things out. There are tales of shepherds and potters stumbling into these hidden halls, spotting the Round Table and Excalibur just lying there. Maybe Arthur's crew is just taking a really long nap until we need them.
2) A grandmother in California spotted what sounds like a solid Bigfoot while driving her grandson to Boy Scouts camp. She described an eight-foot-tall figure with brownish-red hair, long arms past the knees, standing still in a clearing. The area around Shaver Lake has a history of these reports, and the folks at the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization called it credible. She went back later to double-check it wasn't a stump or something ordinary. I love how everyday folks keep these encounters alive.
3) On the research side, there's a thoughtful piece about UFOs and demons, sparked by a door-to-door missionary chat that turned into a deep dive on how people frame these sightings through different beliefs. It got me reflecting on how these phenomena weave into our worldviews, whether you're looking at ancient texts or modern videos. Fieldwork really can show up right on your porch sometimes.
4) In Colombia, a security guard caught footage of what looks like a ghost child wandering through an empty cinema. The clip has folks talking.
5) Closer to home in the Adirondacks, some local filmmakers got drone footage of a big shape moving in Lake Champlain that everyone's calling possible evidence of Champ, the lake monster. It went viral, with the scale from their rowboat making it especially intriguing. They've been honoring the local lore in their kids' film project, and now the whole world is chiming in. Sturgeon or something more? Hard to say, but it adds to the fun of these water mysteries.
Reading about all these strange happenings around the world makes me think back to some of the odder cases right here at the San Benedetto Paranormal Museum. If you're enjoying these weekly dispatches and want more ghostly mysteries with a side of small-town sleuthing, you might like the stories I've lived through myself in the Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum cozy mystery series. Swing by the museum in San Benedetto sometime—we've got signed copies on the shelves, and I'd love to chat about your own spooky encounters.
