Mrs. J.H.R. Matteson - Clairvoyant Remedies

I'm working on my 4th Paranormal Museum mystery, and just added a new object to the museum! It’s a simple glass bottle with these words embossed on one side:

MRS. JHR MATTESON – CLAIRVOYANT REMEDIES - BUFFALO N.Y.

Here’s what my imaginary museum placard says about this weird object:

Mrs. Antoinette Matteson was born Antoinette Wealthy in 1847. This Buffalo, New Jersey spiritualist and psychic healer, or “clairvoyant doctress,” grew into her mediumistic powers after the death of her husband, when she became the sole support for her family.

This bottle once contained one of her custom herbal remedies, compounded from recipes she discovered during trance states. In her book, The Occult Family Physician, she wrote: “During the twenty years of my mediumistic experience, many hundreds, in fact I may say thousands, of remarkable cures have been made through the aid of my spirit guides.” She died in 1913.
