    Tiki Terror! (Plus Tea!)

First, thank you to the Raven(ous) Society for inviting us to join this online Witch's Tea! In honor of our newest paranormal exhibit, a haunted tiki that's said to walk at night, the San Benedetto Paranormal Museum is holding a Tiki Tea on October 31st! And since we’re located next door to an actual tearoom, no actual tea will be served (that would irritate the neighbor). Instead, we’re going full tiki with tiki drinks. So, only adults over 21, please. But first, what about

    Paranormal News! 6 September

Welcome to September! Autumn is almost upon us and that means pumpkin lattes and all things Halloween! Until then, here's this week's paranormal news update. 1) Why the Ghost Hunters team is super selective about which tech equipment they use. (As a side note, the paranormal museum sells a wide array of tech for all your ghost hunting needs...). 2) What do you do when your home is too haunted to sell? You rent it to ghost hunting enthusiasts via AirBnB. 3) The Witch's Tree at

    Paranormal News! 30 August

Amidst all the usual craziness in the news, the paranormal crazy just keeps on coming. So here's my top five roundup of this week's paranormal news! 1) Do not storm Area 51. Repeat after me: do NOT storm Area 51. But since no one listens to me (sigh), a second Nevada county has declared a state of emergency in the face of the upcoming "Storm Area 51" event, which aims to... release kidnapped aliens from the military's not-so-secret site? 2) Is the infamous home from The Conju

    Paranormal News! 23 August

The end of summer is approaching. Bad news for school kids. Good news for moms. Great news when you live in California's central valley where it is HOT. So let's all cool off with another dose of your weekly paranormal news! 1) A group of moms start their own ghost hunting group. And they're awesome. 2) Ghost boy caught on security camera? Hm... You be the judge. 3) Fashion witch (yes, it's a thing now) gives tips on how to incorporate magic into your beauty routine. 4) Certa

    Paranormal News! Aug 16th, 2019

Welcome to your paranormal news for the week. I'm super excited about this week's batch of news, because item number one is simply... inspiring! At least, it's inspiring if you run a paranormal museum... 1) The York Ghost Merchants opens today in the historically haunted city of York, and what does it sell? Ghosts, of course! Yes, you can buy your own, unique ghost to take home. (Now why didn't I think of that for the museum?) 2) Archaeologists are still digging up interestin

    Paranormal News! 26 July

Welcome to another week of the strange, oddball, and just plain paranormal! A lot of aliens and cryptozoology this week, so let's get started! 1) The Loch Ness Monster, captured on sonar! (Maybe) 2) And a Bigfoot howl captured in Kentucky? 3) So, the whole, "let's storm Area 51 and set the aliens free" thing turned out to be a joke gone awry. (Much like the Rosecrucians, but with the possibility of death by US military). Here's how this joke went so badly wrong. 4) And speaki

    Paranormal News! 5 July 2019

Happy Independence Day (belated), America! Here's this week's paranormal news. 1) Paranormal investigator claims demonic hauntings are EXTREMELY rare. So... that's good news. 2) Seen over Colorado and caught on a security camera, something plummeting from the sky and then suddenly banking left. Is it a UFO? 3) In entertainment news, The Good Witch was renewed for a sixth season on Hallmark Channel. 4) Gatlinburg will host the first ever Bigfoot conference in the Smoky Mountai

    Paranormal News! 29 June, 2019

Maybe Susan from Wits' End should start taking over this blog, because it sure has been filling up with UFO news... 1) Strange objects seen over Kansas City, and no one seems to have any answers... 2) And Joe Rogan interviews Bob Lazaar, who is crediting with bringing Area 51 to the attention of UFO enthusiasts. And Bob's story is... out of this world. 3) Thinking of witchcraft as a career? It's not all spell casting and Tarot reading. There's also Instagram... 4) UFO museum

    Paranormal News! 22 June 2019

Welcome to another week of paranormal news from the San Benedetto Paranormal Museum! We've got ghosts, Bigfoot, UFOs and entertainment news! 1) Woman faints in a paranormal museum (not mine) after being touched by an orb. Is this video evidence of the paranormal? As a side note, at the San Benedetto museum, we only run our video cameras at night, after the museum has closed. 2) Have you heard the mournful call of Bigfoot? No? (Me neither, alas). Then maybe you should go to In

    Paranormal News: 14 June

I know, I've been a little off schedule with my usual paranormal news. But things have been crazy at the San Benedetto Paranormal Museum. A team of ghost hunters flooded the bathroom in the tearoom next door, and the orbs have gone crazy. (The owner of the tearoom hasn't been too happy about it either). Anyway, my top five paranormal news picks are here! 1) Too bizaare (and weirdly funny) not to share. A woman's outdoor security camera catches... a drunken alien? Dobby the ho

    Paranormal News! 29 March 2019

Whew! With all the chocolate and murder, I've had to take a hiatus from posting. But I'm back this week with my top five in paranormal news. 1) First, in honor of St. Paddy's, there's a hidden leprechaun house at Disneyland in Anaheim! It looks more like a tree than a house, but... 2) An interesting article from the BBC on the witch trials in Scotland. 3) And speaking of witches... Here's an article on a new photography collection of modern American witches. 4) Fact or faked?

    Paranormal News! 11 January 2019

The Paranormal Museum is back from hiatus after the Doyle Witches took over the blog. It's hard to compete with, well, that tale. But I'm game for trying with this week's paranormal news! 1) The witch who solved a murder... It sounds like the title of one of Kirsten Weiss's stories, but this tale of modern Salem witch, Laurie Cabot, is weirdly true. 2) And speaking of witches and murder, was witchcraft an element in this Texas killing? 3) 5 myths about witch hunts. The Christmas Witch

Original, short fiction from The Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum! Unforgiving, black and white photos of executed murderers stared down at me from the museum’s glossy white walls. Their glowers were nothing compared to Herb’s. Quivering with indignation, Herb deposited the museum cat on my checkerboard floor. The black cat darted to the haunted rocking chair in the corner and sprang onto its wooden seat. “I found GD outside.” The little man blinked accusingly through his c

    7 Tarot Myths Debunked

Thank you to Maddie and the Paranormal Museum for letting me share on one of my favorite topics today! While the idea of Tarot has taken root in popular culture, there are also many myths about Tarot that have made their way into the popular psyche and made the art seem magical and elusive. While this is part of what makes Tarot interesting, it can also make Tarot seem inaccessible. Let’s have a look at some Tarot myths that should be debunked! 1. Tarot is an Ancient Egyptian

    Paranormal News! 30 November

Did you know the Victorians had a tradition of telling ghost stories on Christmas Eve? Maybe it's because winter was the traditional spooky season back in the day. Cold. Darkness. Not a lot of food. At the paranormal museum, starting December 1st, we're exploring the supernatural elements of the holiday season -- from St. Nick to Grylla the Christmas Ogress. So stop on by! In the meantime, here's your weekly roundup of paranormal news: 1) 2018 is the 30th anniversary of the S

    Paranormal News! 16 November

I'll be honest. It was a slow news week for the paranormal world, and I really had to struggle for these crumbs. I'm not asking for your pity, just explaining why this is so alien-heavy. 1) Several airplane pilots flying into Ireland spotted a UFO. The sighting is currently being investigated, though some are saying it was most likely a meteor. 2) Fed up with shadowy government investigators, a billionaire is funding is own initiative to seek alien life. 3) A doorbell camera
