The new year has gotten off to a good start. I'm five chapters in on the next Tea & Tarot mystery, Gingerbread Dead. And I'm well into the murder mystery role-playing game that's going into the back of Big Shot. Yes, I've decided to up my back-of-the-book game with an actual game. Recipes are all well and good, and you can expect more scones in Gingerbread Dead. But you can actually play the "Big" games with friends. (The games can be played with 2-6 people, either in person or over something like Zoom).
I'd been planning to include a game in the back of these books from the beginning, and even took a class on how to write murder mystery party games. But it seemed way to complicated for something in the back of a cozy mystery. Then in December, I realized how I could simplify it so it would work. And it does! Buahahaha!
I've already tested out one game, which I'll be giving away to people who pre-order Big Shot. (If you've already pre-ordered the ebook, don't worry. I'll let you know later how you can get a free copy too). If you haven't pre-ordered Big Shot, then you may want to hold off until February, when the game is available. Otherwise, pre-order now and just save your invoice number. I've found a great artist, who's doing some illustrations for the games as my artistic skills are... limited.
Currently, I'm also editing book two in the Big Murder Mystery series, Big Bad. Book three in the series, Big Bucks, is marinating on my laptop.
So that's what's happening with me. What's going on with you?
